Ālectryon excelsus (tītoki) is a hardy, evergreen New Zealand native tree in the Sapindaceae family, valued for its glossy dark-green foliage, attractive spreading canopy, and bright red fruit that split open to reveal shiny black seeds, grows 4-8 metres tall, preferring free-draining soils in coastal to lowland forest environments, and moderately tolerant of wind, drought, and light frost once established.
