Coprosma ‘Taiko’ is a compact, evergreen, prostrate New Zealand native shrub in the Rubiaceae family, forming a dense, spreading mat typically 30–50 cm tall and 1–1.5 m wide, with small glossy dark green leaves that develop rich purple to burgundy tones in winter and in full sun, providing strong year-round colour. It produces small, inconspicuous flowers in late summer to autumn followed by bright blue berries that are partially hidden within the foliage, adding seasonal interest and value for birds.
